đŸ’„ How to Crush Your Goals Without Losing Your Soul đŸ’„

There’s a moment many midlife Black men know too well:

You’ve done the “right” things—

✅ Built a career

✅ Took care of your family

✅ Stayed out of trouble

✅ Even kept some kind of faith

But deep inside, something’s off.

You lie awake some nights wondering, “Is this it?”

There’s success
 but not satisfaction.

Achievement
 but not alignment.

If that sounds familiar, I want you to know:

You’re not broken.

You’re not selfish.

You’re evolving.

And what feels like frustration might actually be the first step toward fulfillment.

🔍 There Is a Plan—But You Won’t Find It in Your Comfort Zone

A timeless truth, found in Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV), says:

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.’”

Whether or not you consider yourself religious, this idea is powerful:

There’s a deeper design for your life—one that includes purpose, growth, and joy.

But the plan isn’t delivered in a neat box.

It’s buried in your instincts, passions, and even your restlessness.

And to access it, you’ve got to slow down and listen to the whisper you’ve been ignoring.

Let me show you what that looked like for a brother named Marcus.

Breaking the Silence: Empowering Tips for Black Men to Speak Up

đŸ’Œ Case Story 1: Marcus – The High School Dean Who Lost His Spark

Marcus, 52, had spent nearly two decades as a high school dean in a tough school district. He was respected. Reliable. Resilient.

But in a quiet moment, he told me:

“I’m everybody’s anchor—but I feel like I’ve lost myself.”

What he didn’t tell most people was that he had a dream—something he shelved years ago. Marcus wanted to build a platform for Black fathers: to create space for real conversations about manhood, fear, healing, and legacy.

He didn’t hate his job, but it no longer lit him up.

Through coaching, he started testing the waters. First, a community meet-up. Then a podcast. This year, Marcus hosted a virtual summit that drew hundreds of Black fathers from across the country.

He didn’t burn his old life down. He expanded it.

Now, he wakes up with something more than responsibility. He wakes up with fire.

đŸ”„ 3 Questions That Can Shift Your Entire Life

What sets your soul on fire?

What excites you so much that you’d do it for free? That passion could be the key to your purpose.

What have you been avoiding?

Is there an idea that keeps showing up, but you keep pushing it aside? That might be the thing you were born to do.

What happens after you reach your next goal?

Use the “What then?” technique. Keep asking what comes next until you land on a truth that stirs something deep in you. That’s the real target.

🌍 Case Story 2: Malcolm – The Faithful Man Who Felt Forgotten

Malcolm, 44, had always done what was expected. Raised his family. Stayed active in church. Played it safe.

But underneath, he wondered if he had missed his chance to live a life that felt fully alive.

We unpacked the wisdom in a little-known passage—1 Chronicles 4:10 (NIV)—the Prayer of Jabez:

“Jabez cried out
‘Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.’ And God granted his request.”

Malcolm started with a small vision—consulting for underserved churches. Within months, he was booked out, invited to conferences, and doing work that made his heart beat again.

He discovered: It’s never too late to be who you were created to be.

📖 The Jabez Blueprint for Expansion

Even if you're only clear on the first step, try this mindset:

  1. Ask boldly for expansion

(“Bless me and enlarge my territory
”)

Don’t be afraid to want more—impact, income, freedom, joy.

  2. Ask for clear guidance

(“Let your hand be with me
”)

Stay connected to your intuition, your faith, and wise counsel.

  3. Ask for protection as you grow

    (“
keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.”)

Growth brings challenge. Protect your mind, spirit, and peace.

🚀 Your Next Step: Don’t Just Read This—Respond to It

Maybe you’re like Marcus—burned out from showing up for everyone else but yourself.

Maybe you’re like Malcolm—steady and faithful, but tired of wondering “what if.”

Or maybe
you’re just done pretending that this is good enough.

Here’s what I know:

You can reset.

You can expand.

You can live aligned with faith, fulfillment, and freedom.
